Advice from the workshop

Choose the Vapor Pro for the two hours, not for the 12 km/h. Flat out it lasts twenty-eight minutes; at 6 km/h it gives you two hours of exploring. And while one battery pushes, the other charges in 1 h 30: the day no longer stops.

How the pump-jet works

No propeller, no exposed blade. What happens between the front and the back of the scooter, in three steps.

01 · Water goes inA hull with no reachable bladeWater is drawn in through a grilled intake at the front of the body. No blade is exposed: a finger, a fin or a strand of hair cannot be caught.
02 · The impeller speeds it upA shrouded impellerInside, an impeller spins in a closed duct and accelerates the water. That shroud is what separates a jet from a bare propeller: the thrust is channelled instead of being stirred.
03 · It comes back out249 N of thrust, straightWater pushed backwards drives the scooter forwards. Nothing spins on the outside, so no torque rolls the scooter onto its side: the thrust comes straight, from the first press.
Highlights

What separates it from the Vapor

249 N of thrust

Forty newtons more than the Vapor, and a fourth speed at 12 km/h. The surge is instant, with no delay.

Two batteries included

384.8 Wh each, up to two hours in the water. The spare waits on board and swaps in seconds.

1 h 30 fast charging

One battery fills while the other works: the day no longer stops to wait for a socket.

4.3-inch OLED display

Charge, speed, depth, heading and water temperature, in high definition and in real time.

Automatic cleaning and updates

The impeller flushes itself on command; the machine takes its updates wirelessly from the Sublue app.

Positive buoyancy and grille

Let go and it rises. The protective grille keeps hair and marine life out of the impeller.

Frequently asked

What people ask us most

How long does the Vapor Pro last underwater?

Two hours at 6 km/h with the two batteries supplied, one hour at 8 km/h, forty minutes at 10, twenty-eight at full speed. Swapping a battery takes seconds.

What is the difference with the Vapor?

A fourth speed and 12 km/h instead of 10, 249 N instead of 210, a 4.3-inch display, a second battery and a fast charger as standard. The hull and the jet propulsion are the same. See the Vapor.

How long does it take to charge?

An hour and a half per battery with the supplied fast charger. In practice one charges while the other is in the water.

Can the Sublue Vapor Pro battery go on a plane?

No. It is 2 × 384.8 Wh, above the 160 Wh ceiling: it travels neither in the cabin nor in the hold. The scooter itself, battery removed, is no problem at all. If you fly often, look at the Navbow or the WhiteShark Mix instead.

Is it dangerous to reach near the impeller?

No blade is exposed: the impeller is shrouded and protected by a grille that keeps hair and marine life out.

Can it be handled with one hand?

Yes. 8.6 kg, a central grip and positive buoyancy: one person lifts it out of the water from a swim platform.

Care

Care comes down to four habits

A scooter rinsed after every outing does not age. That is very nearly all it asks.

Rinse within half an hour

Sublue asks that the scooter be immersed in clean water within thirty minutes of a sea outing, battery in place, and run for a few seconds at low speed to flush the salt out. No detergent, no soapy water.

Dry before closing it up

Wipe the water off the body and the battery compartment, then let it air-dry somewhere cool. Never use a hairdryer: heat distorts the seals.

Store the two apart

Out of season, scooter and battery are stored separately, in their packaging, out of the sun, between 0 and 45 °C and below 65 % humidity. Once a month, run it for ten seconds or so.

Grease the battery contacts

A dab of silicone grease on the battery contacts and on the compartment seal, at the end of the season. That is where salt settles and where corrosion starts.

The SublueGo app

It connects over Bluetooth, keeps a log of your outings and installs firmware updates. Above all, it is where you start the auto-clean cycle: the impeller runs on its own, in fresh water, and flushes salt and sand out of the duct — the maintenance the jet does for you.

In short

The Sublue Vapor Pro is the most powerful underwater scooter in the Sublue range: jet propulsion, 249 newtons of thrust, four speeds up to 12 km/h, 8.6 kg, 40 metres deep.

It comes with two 384.8 Wh batteriesup to two hours of run time at 6 km/h and 28 minutes flat out. Fast charging in 1 h 30.

Ready to dive
